I'm keeping today short and SWEET! ;)
Today I'm sharing my Friday Favorites, and what better way to start than with ICE CREAM? And not just any ice cream . . . this new Bluebell concoction, Brides Cake.
I've been eyeing this ice cream since we first saw it in stores about a month or so ago. We kept trying to find just a pint of it so we didn't have to buy the half gallon . . . but, as it seems there was and is still no pint available. So? We bought the half gallon. #sorrynotsorry
Oh you guys . . . this ice cream is yummy. So very yummy. And you need it in your life.
It's almond flavored ice cream (almond was our wedding cake flavor) with cake pieces and amaretto cream cheese frosting.
Trust me - go to the store, buy the half gallon (just do it) and then eat this little piece of heaven. #youarewelcome
I made these blueberry muffins the other day and I just can't get over how pretty they look, not to mention that they are 100% DELICIOUS!
They're easy to make, quick to bake and you can whip them up in a jiffy. Doesn't get better than that if you ask me.
Give them a try this weekend!
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup milk
1 cup fresh blueberries
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Add all ingredients to list
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Grease muffin cups/line with muffin liners.
Combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
Place vegetable oil into a 1 cup measuring cup; add the egg and enough milk to fill the cup - Mix this with flour mixture.
Mix in blueberries.
Fill muffin cups to the top and sprinkle with crumb topping mixture.
Mix together sugar, flour, butter, and cinnamon.
Mix with fork and sprinkle over muffins before baking.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes
I'm switching gears here to something a bit healthier ;)
This is my FAVORITE smoothie and my favorite thing to have for breakfast.
I started buying these 4 packs of pure and unsweetened Acai at our local grocery store and I've never looked back. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff.
One of my favorite treats to get when we lived back in Washington was an ACAI bowl and then the other day I started wondering how I could make my own bowl at home and y'all it is not hard at all. You just need the acai pack and you mix it with other fruit, milk, etc. just like you would any smoothie. So simple. So delicious.
I actually prefer to make the smoothie vs. the bowl at home just because it's a bit easier and quicker when I'm getting ready in the morning.
So with that - here is my go to acai smoothie recipe:
1 pack of pure and unsweetened acai
1 cup almond milk
1 cup strawberries
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp flax seeds
1 tsp honey
4-5 ice cubes
That's it friends - easy, delicious and healthy! If you make it, let me know what you think!
And last but not least . . . my new favorite app.
If you love photos than listen to me and download this app.
It's SO simple - you get 85 free prints per month and only pay 10 dollars for shipping per month.
I looked at Walgreens, Walmart, Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc. and I haven't found a better deal. If you do, please let me know and in the meantime . . . download the app and start getting photos!
. . . .
And with that friends - HAPPY FRIDAY!!
May your Friday look just like this . . .
