It's been a good long while since I've popped on here . . . as per usual, life has been busy. For a while there I was working my current full time job while also working part time remotely for my previous company in Austin. Honestly, after working one job and then coming home to another job, the last thing I wanted to do was sit in front of my computer to write a blog post at the end of the day . . . thus this sweet little blog fell to the back burner pretty quick.
Just this last month I finished up contracting with the company in Austin and life has already felt a little more at ease - I just started running again, Tay and I started our marriage course for the second time and I've started to prioritize my health a bit more. I feel happier, more at peace and super excited about some new things coming up.
I love this little blog so much - it's sort of like a yearbook of our life and adventures. This place holds so many memories and meaning for me - I am honestly so excited to be back on here and to get writing again . . . truly, if you are here reading this and still following me - thank you!
Here's a little bit of what we've been up to the last few months:

Tay recently spent 6 weeks down in Dallas for his first internship with school - I went down and visited two different weekends, and wowza, I loved it. There is so much to do and see and it's just really cute.
We packed A TON into two weekends - a few of our favs were the La La Land Kind Cafe, Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, Legacy West in Plano, Grapevine (winetasting) and the Dallas Farmers Market.

Back in January I jetted off to Hawaii to babysit for a week at the Disney Aulani Resort - the trip came up super last minute and I was invited to go, all expense paid in exchange for babysitting. Honestly, BEST JOB EVER. If anyone wants to hire me to be a full time destination nanny, I'm here for it.
Loved every bit of the this trip.

This year we spent Christmas in Washington with Tay's family and as always, it was so fun. We love going back and seeing the fam and visiting our old stomping grounds, especially during Christmas time when it's extra magical.
During our trip home we took a day trip out to Gig Harbor and explored the area - it's so beautiful. Honestly, the Pacific Northwest never ceases to amaze me with how pretty it is.
We were also back in WA in October for Taylor's best friends wedding - we flew up on a Thursday and made a long weekend of the trip - we did ALL the fall things!

This Thanksgiving was extra special, because it was Tay's birthday also! We had a massive snow storm hit that week, but Tay's sweet mama still pulled off the best birthday surprise and showed up here a couple of days before Thanksgiving . . . literally in a blizzard.
Ga, Tay's mom, was supposed to fly out here on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and that was right in the middle of when this huge storm was supposed to hit - On that Monday, airlines were already starting to cancel flights in anticipation for the storm, so I called his mom at noon on Monday and told her that I thought she needed to fly out that night otherwise she wasn't going to make it. Thankfully, she works for Delta and can fly standby and try to get on any flight, any time. Praise the LORD, because she got on the earliest flight out on Tuesday and made it to Denver, although none of us still know how, because literally the airport was practically shut down. But then to top it off, we managed to get her a last minute shuttle to our house and viola, she was here and Tay had NO idea!
It was a sweet, and very thankful Thanksgiving.

Back in October Taylor earned his WHITE COAT and we all headed back to Austin for his White Coat Ceremony. This trip is probably one of my favorites from this fall - the white coat ceremony is a milestone in PT School and I was just so proud to celebrate Tay and how hard he has worked thus far. It's funny, because the ceremony felt so far off for so long and now that it's passed, along with his first internship, I know that the next year and a half is going to fly by. He'll be done before we know it.
Also, this quick weekend trip was extra special because his sweet nana came down for the ceremony - I know that it meant the world to Tay that she was there.

Before I left my company in Austin I was in the middle of planning our company's annual University of Texas tailgate. After we moved, I stayed on with the company part-time and continued to plan the tailgate and see it through to the end, so in November Tay and I flew down to Austin and I got to throw my favorite party of the year.
This event is no joke - especially for a marketing department of one person (aka me), but I love it. This years tailgate was SO GOOD. Everything from the food to the people - honestly, I'm almost happy I can't plan the next one cause I'm not sure that I could top it. It was good, really really good.

In September, just a week after we moved to CO, Tay and I drove up to Aspen for a weekend to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. Behind our NYC trip, this is my favorite trip we've gone on - everything about it was perfect. We stayed in the cutest little hotel right on the ski hill - the weather was amazing and both nights we sat in the hot tub looking at the stars and drinking wine. I would go back a 1000 times - it's incredible. Also, we hiked the Maroon Bells (not the full thing, just a short 3.5 mile loop). Again - AMAZING. Like, you can't believe a place that beautiful can even exist.
And there ya have it - a few of our favorite memories from the fall/winter. These past few months have been second to none - we've traveled a lot and have spent so much time with family. It's honestly been awesome. We're living at home with my parents and it's been fun - hard at times, because we're used to having our own home and space, but we're so thankful to them for letting us stay here while Tay finishes up in school.
Life is good, y'all. I've missed this space and getting to jot my thoughts down - hoping to be on here more consistently now that it seems life has settled down just a smidge.
On a side note - my parents are off to Ireland for the next couple of weeks, so these two kids get the house to themselves!
And one last thing before I go
we have a new little niece! The first girl on Tay's side - meet, Sadie Jo!
Isn't she the cutest thing you've ever seen? We haven't met her yet (only on facetime), so it looks like a trip home to Washington is in the works v soon.
- I love y'all -
